Hemophilia of orbit

open access: yesOman Journal of Ophthalmology, 2009
Hemophilic pseudotumor is an uncommon complication of factor VIII and IX deficiencies in the coagulation cascade and occurs in a wide spectrum of bones and soft tissues. We present a six-year-old boy with hemophilic pseudotumor localized in the right orbit.

The on-orbit performance of the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) instrument and its radiometrically calibrated products

open access: yes, 2016
. The Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) carries and points a three-channel imaging grating spectrometer designed to collect high-resolution, co-boresighted spectra of reflected sunlight within the molecular oxygen (O2) A-band at 0.765 microns and the

TRAF2 binds to TIFA via a novel motif and contributes to its autophagic degradation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
TRAF family members couple receptor signalling complexes to downstream outputs, but how they interact with these complexes is not always clear. Here, we show that during ADP‐heptose signalling, TRAF2 binding to TIFA requires two short sequence motifs in the C‐terminal tail of TIFA, which are distinct from the TRAF6 binding motif.

Spin-orbit torque engineering via oxygen manipulation

open access: yes, 2015
Spin transfer torques allow the electrical manipulation of the magnetization at room temperature, which is desirable in spintronic devices such as spin transfer torque memories. When combined with spin-orbit coupling, they give rise to spin-orbit torques

The epithelial barrier theory proposes a comprehensive explanation for the origins of allergic and other chronic noncommunicable diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...

Periodic Orbit Quantization beyond Semiclassics

open access: yes, 1995
A quantum generalization of the semiclassical theory of Gutzwiller is given. The new formulation leads to systematic orbit-by-orbit inclusion of higher $\hbar$ contributions to the spectral determinant.

From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

STar-DETR: A Lightweight Real-Time Detection Transformer for Space Targets in Optical Sensor Systems

open access: yesSensors
Optical sensor systems are essential for space target detection. However, previous studies have prioritized detection accuracy over model efficiency, limiting their deployment on resource-constrained sensors.

RPE Adenocarcinoma as the Presenting Sign of Bronchogenic Carcinoma: Diagnostic Dilemma in the Management of a Case

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmological Medicine, 2013
Neoplasms of retinal pigment epithelium are rare and must be differentiated from choroidal melanoma. The possibility of a metastatic disease with possible primary sites as lung, breast, or kidney should be ruled out.
