Insights into orbital morphological features and fracture patterns in medial and inferior wall fracture: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This study investigated the orbital morphological features that lead to fractures at different sites by comparing patients with isolated inferior wall fracture (IWF) to patients with isolated medial wall fracture (MWF).

Orbital Floor Fracture Reconstruction Using Conchal Auricular Cartilage Graft

open access: yesPhilippine Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, 2010
Orbital wall fractures result from external impact injuries which cause an abrupt increase in intraorbital pressure.1 Patients usually present to the emergency room with periorbital swelling and limited eye movements, with or without changes in vision ...

Reconstruction of Medial Orbital Wall Fractures without Subperiosteal Dissection: The “Push-Out” Technique

open access: yesArchives of Plastic Surgery, 2017
Background Various surgical methods for repairing medial orbital wall fractures have been introduced. The conventional technique requires total separation of the displaced orbital bones from the orbital soft tissues.

Bilateral isolated blowout fracture due to airbag deployment

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2021
The airbag is a lifesaver innovation in automobile industry, but the impact of airbag deployment may cause maxillofacial fractures. Airbag deployment in traffic accidents is a rare etiology of orbital fractures.

Orbital Floor Reconstruction Using A Three-Dimensional Printing Technology in Delayed Cases [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Aim: Orbital floor fractures are one of the most commonmaxillofacial fractures. They account for 10-25% of the totalfacial bone fractures. Delayed cases are considered challengesin orbital floor fractures.

The Usefulness of the Navigation System to Reconstruct Orbital Wall Fractures Involving Inferomedial Orbital Strut

open access: yes, 2023
Background: Little attention has been paid to combined orbital floor and medial wall fractures with the involvement of the inferomedial orbital strut. Managing this particular fracture can prove challenging.

Reliability of multidetector computed tomography in rational analysis of midface fractures

open access: yesJournal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, 2018
Background: Motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) are the main causes of midfacial fractures in developing countries. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is the principle diagnostic imaging tool in maxillofacial trauma.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

A Comprehensive Look at Maxillofacial Traumas: On the Basis of Orbital Involvement

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
Introduction: Orbital wall fractures that may develop in maxillofacial traumas (MFTs) may cause ophthalmic complications (OCs). The aim of this study is to determine the frequency of orbital fractures (OFs) accompanying MFTs and findings suspicious for ...
