A Unified, Physical Framework for Mean Motion Resonances

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The traditional approach to analyzing mean motion resonances (MMRs) is through the canonical perturbation theory. While this is a powerful method, its generality leads to complicated combinations of variables that are challenging to interpret and require

Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

Influence of Modeling Assumptions on the Inferred Dynamical State of Resonant Systems: A Case Study of the HD 45364 System

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Planetary systems exhibiting mean motion resonances (MMRs) offer unique opportunities to study the imprint of disk-induced migration on the orbital architectures of planetary systems. The HD 45364 system, discovered via the radial velocity (RV) method to

Mechanism of surface plasmon polarition propagation for nano-optics applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In recent times a new emerging research field has become more and more popular in the optics community, which is plasmonics. This discipline studies the surprising optical properties of metals at the nano-scale, which are substantially different from ...

Disruption of co-orbital (1:1) planetary resonances during gas-driven orbital migration

open access: yes, 2014
International audiencePlanets close to their stars are thought to form farther out and migrate inward due to angular momentum exchange with gaseous protoplanetary disks. This process can produce systems of planets in co-orbital (Trojan or 1:1) resonance,

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Multi-Body Resonances in Extrasolar Systems

open access: yes
Utilizing a recently revised catalog of exoplanets detected by the Kepler space telescope, we aim to identify planetary systems that exhibit three or more planets in orbital resonance.

Orbital resonances, unusual configurations and exotic rotation states among planetary satellites

open access: yes, 1987
Several examples of satellite dynamics are presented where significant progress has been made in understanding a complex problem, where a long-standing problem has finally been solved, where newly discovered configurations have motivated novel ...

Chemically Doped Conductive Polymers for Wearable Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Among conductive polymers, poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), polyaniline (PANI), and polypyrrole (PPy) are the most studied and applied. Chemical doping significantly boosts intrinsic conductivity and mechanical robustness.

Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...
