The origin recognition complex interacts with a subset of metabolic genes tightly linked to origins of replication.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2009
The origin recognition complex (ORC) marks chromosomal sites as replication origins and is essential for replication initiation. In yeast, ORC also binds to DNA elements called silencers, where its primary function is to recruit silent information ...

Interactions among rice ORC subunits [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2013
The origin recognition complex (ORC) is composed of six subunits and plays an important role in DNA replication in all eukaryotes. The ORC subunits OsORC6 as well as the other five ORC subunits in rice were experimentally isolated and sequenced. It indicated that there also exist six ORC subunits in rice.

Parametric optimization and heat transfer analysis of a dual loop ORC (organic Rankine cycle) system for CNG engine waste heat recovery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this study, a dual loop ORC (organic Rankine cycle) system is adopted to recover exhaust energy, waste heat from the coolant system, and intercooler heat rejection of a six-cylinder CNG (compressed natural gas) engine. The thermodynamic, heat transfer,

A Sacrificial 3D Printed Vessel‐on‐Chip Demonstrates a Versatile Approach to Model Granulation Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel method that combines 3D printing and organ‐on‐chip technology enables the creation of hollow channels lined with endothelial cells through a fibroblast‐populated connective tissue matrix. The model supports stable metabolic culture conditions, angiogenic sprouting, and immune cell migration, thereby demonstrating an easy and versatile method to

Waste heat harvesting from continuous blowdown for power generation via organic Rankine cycle network: Case study of a coal-fired power plant

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2023
This paper proposed a method of waste heat harvesting from 1.3 kg/s continuous blowdown at 354.67 °C from a 300 MW coal-fired power plant for generating electrical power by organic Rankine cycle (ORC) networks in series and parallel connections.

Diverged composition and regulation of the Trypanosoma brucei origin recognition complex that mediates DNA replication initiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Initiation of DNA replication depends upon recognition of genomic sites, termed origins, by AAA+ ATPases. In prokaryotes a single factor binds each origin, whereas in eukaryotes this role is played by a six-protein origin recognition complex (ORC).

Room‐Temperature, Photo‐Densified High Refractive Index Titanium Oxide Thin Films for Solution‐Processed Flexible Bragg Mirrors and Microcavity OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents the room‐temperature fabrication of solution‐processed, high refractive index TiOX thin films via photo‐densification. Using these films, flexible Bragg mirrors are demonstrated on PET substrates, achieving a high reflectivity of 96% at 450 nm.
