The scaling of seed‐dispersal specialization in interaction networks across levels of organization

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Natural ecosystems are characterized by a specialization pattern where few species are common while many others are rare. In ecological networks involving biotic interactions, specialization operates as a continuum at individual, species, and community levels. Theory predicts that ecological and evolutionary factors can primarily explain specialization.

Human appreciation of flower colours as cultural ecosystem service in grasslands: A methodological approach

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
This literature‐based method estimates human appreciation of flower colours on target grasslands. Step 1: search literature sources (floristic surveys, national floras, web datasets and preference studies). Step 2: flower trait extraction (flower colour and area, flowering period and human colour appreciation scale).

Influence of microgravity on physiological and biochemical transformation of orchids different morphoecotypes

open access: yesІнтродукція Рослин, 2003
Negative influence of long-term clinostation on the orchids growth processes has been shown. The negligible growth simulation was observed after 30-day cultivation. The analogous dependnce was observed when chlorophyll's contains in leaves of orchids was

Genome sequence of Apostasia ramifera provides insights into the adaptive evolution in orchids

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2021
Background The Orchidaceae family is one of the most diverse among flowering plants and serves as an important research model for plant evolution, especially “evo-devo” study on floral organs.

Sensory Processing Sensitivity: Associations With Psychological Well‐Being and Sleep Health Among Adolescent Girls

open access: yesJournal of Adolescence, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adolescence is associated with risks for sleep and mental health issues, particularly among girls. Identifying risk factors is essential for designing targeted interventions during this vulnerable developmental period. One factor to consider is Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), the ability to adapt and respond to one's ...

Genome Sequencing Reveals the Role of MADS-box Gene Families in the Floral Morphology Evolution of Orchids

open access: yesHorticultural Plant Journal, 2019
Orchid origin and evolution are common topics in evolutionary biology. Orchidaceae have approximately 30 000 orchid species distributed in diverse habitats and account for approximately 10% of the flowering plant species worldwide.

Different Leaf Strategies Between Lithophytic and Terrestrial Orchids in a Subtropical Karst Forest. [PDF]

open access: yesPlants (Basel)
The leaf economic spectrum framework explains how plants optimize leaf traits for productivity, distribution, and stress tolerance. Orchids in Southwestern China’s karst forests, especially lithophytic species, are challenged by prolonged drought and ...

Charting the Evolution of Open Data Business Models: Insights From a Systematic Review and Thematic Analysis of a Decade

open access: yesStrategic Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article presents a decade of research on Open Data Business Models (ODBM), aiming to identify conceptual gaps, categorize thematic trends, and propose an integrative framework. This paper, based on a systematic literature review (SLR) of 60 peer‐reviewed studies, develops a coherent framework that explains how ODBMs are formed, adapted ...

Rediscovery of Passiflora clypeophylla (subgenus Decaloba): a highly threatened and narrow endemic species found within a karstic canyon in Guatemala

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Passiflora clypeophylla, an endemic species to the Guatemalan karstic forests last seen in 1889 and deemed extinct, was rediscovered in the Department of Alta Verapaz, east of Cobán. The species was known only from a single specimen hailed from the type locality, Rubel Cruz, where it has been found again. An additional location has been identified in a

Genome-wide identification and adaptive evolution of CesA/Csl superfamily among species with different life forms in Orchidaceae

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Orchidaceae, with more than 25,000 species, is one of the largest flowering plant families that can successfully colonize wide ecological niches, such as land, trees, or rocks, and its members are divided into epiphytic, terrestrial, and saprophytic ...
