Sublinear and continuous order-preserving functions for noncomplete preorders

open access: yes, 2002
We characterize the existence of a nonnegative, sublinear and continuous order-preserving function for a not necessarily complete preorder on a real convex cone in an arbitrary topological real vector space. As a corollary of the main result, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such an order-preserving function for a ...

Learning Scoring Functions with Order-Preserving Losses and Standardized Supervision [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We address the problem of designing surrogate losses for learning scoring functions in the context of label ranking. We extend to ranking problems a notion of order preserving losses previously introduced for multiclass classi?cation, and show that these losses lead to consistent formulations with respect to a family of ranking evaluation metrics.

Strongly order preserving semiflows generated by functional differential equations

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1991
The authors' goal is to extend some of their previous results in the theory of monotone dynamical systems to certain systems of functional differential equations. The fundamental paper in this field was written by M. Hirsch and appeared in 1988; Hirsch established that most orbits of a strongly monotone semiflow on a strongly ordered space tend to a ...

A robust detail preserving anisotropic diffusion for speckle reduction in ultrasound images

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2011
Background Speckles in ultrasound imaging affect image quality and can make the post-processing difficult. Speckle reduction technologies have been employed for removing speckles for some time.

Low-SNR Image Noise Removal on Local Edge-Preserving Function

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2009
:Traditional noise removal arithmetic required that the signal-noise-ratio of the image is high, noise removed image by the traditional noise removal arithmetic loss large amounts of edge and texture information in the image.

Nonlinear Second-Order Partial Differential Equation-Based Image Smoothing Technique [PDF]

open access: yesMemoirs of the Scientific Sections of the Romanian Academy, 2016
A second-order nonlinear parabolic PDE-based restoration model is provided in this article. The proposed anisotropic diffusion-based denoising approach is based on some robust versions of the edge-stopping function and of the conductance parameter.

A Second-Order Generalized Total Variation with Improved Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers Algorithm for Electrical Impedance Tomography Reconstruction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The issue of Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a well-known inverse problem that presents challenging characteristics. In order to address the difficulties associated with ill-conditioned inverses, regularization methods are typically employed ...

Classification of Neuropsychiatric Disorders via Brain-Region-Selected Graph Convolutional Network

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering
For the classification of patients with neuropsychiatric disorders based on rs-fMRI data, this paper proposed a Brain-Region-Selected graph convolutional network (BRS-GCN).
