Decreasing Serial Cost Sharing under Economies of Scale [PDF]
We consider the problem of cost sharing in the presence of increasing returns to scale and potential strategic behavior on the part of consumers. We show that any smooth and strictly monotonic mechanism for which a Nash equilibrium exists for all profiles of convex and monotonic preferences must be dictatorial.

IS THERE EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE FOR DECREASING RETURNS TO SCALE IN A HEALTH CAPITAL MODEL? [PDF]
ABSTRACTWe estimate a health investment equation, derived from a health capital model that is an extension of the well‐known Grossman model. Of particular interest is whether the health production function has constant returns to scale, as in the standard Grossman model, or decreasing returns to scale, as in the Ehrlich–Chuma model and extensions ...

Discussion and prediction on decreasing flow stress scale effect
Abstract Based on crystal plasticity theory and surface layer model, relation of flow stress to billet dimension and grain size was built, and rationality of derived relation was verified with tensile tests of different size billets. With derived expressions, relation of decreasing flow stress scale effect to billet dimension, grain size as well as ...

Empirical Study on Economies of Scale in China Manufacturing [PDF]
The paper is based on Chinese industrial enterprises database, applying the method of translog cost function to measure the economies of scale in manufacturing during the period between 2000 to 2013. The result shows that the mean of scale economies (SCE)

Along with a steady increasing use of artificial nitrogen fertilizer, concerns have been raised about the effects that high nitrogen loading may have on ecosystems. Due to the toxicity of unionized ammonia (NH3), tolerance criteria have been proposed for

A Decreasing Scaling Transition Scheme from Adam to SGD
AbstractAdaptive gradient algorithm and its variants, such as RMSProp, Adam, AMSGrad, etc., have been widely used in deep learning. Although these algorithms are faster in the early phase of training, their generalization performance is often not as good as stochastic gradient descent (SGD). Hence, a trade‐off method of transforming Adam to SGD after a
