Strip-till as a means of decreasing spatial variability of winter barley within a field scale
The tillage system, which joins soil tillage, fertilisation, and seed sowing in one pass of a machine, is rarely used in cereal cultivation. This research aimed to study whether strip-till and conventional tillage (post-harvest ripping and mixing of ...

Empirical Evidence for Decreasing Returns to Scale in a Health Capital Model [PDF]
We estimate a health investment equation, derived from a health capital model that is an extension of the well-known Grossman model. Of particular interest is whether the health production function has constant returns to scale, as in the standard Grossman model, or decreasing returns to scale, as in the Ehrlich-Chuma model and extensions thereof.

Decreased attention to object size information in scale errors performers [PDF]
Young children sometimes make serious attempts to perform impossible actions on miniature objects as if they were full-size objects. The existing explanations of these curious action errors assume (but never explicitly tested) children's decreased attention to object size information.

The decreasing wind speed in southwestern China during 1969-2009,and possible causes [PDF]
Daily wind speed data from 110 stations in southwestern China were analyzed to determine trends, spatial differences and possible causes. There was a statistically significant decrease of 0.24 m/s per decade in the annual mean wind speed during the period

Development characteristics of multi-scale fracture network systems in metamorphic buried hills
Natural fractures are regarded as important reservoir spaces and effective seepage channels at metamorphic buried hills. Continuous networks associated with multi-scale fractures with good connectivity is critical for high-quality reservoirs as well as ...

Biotic homogenization can decrease landscape-scale forest multifunctionality [PDF]
Significance Numerous studies have demonstrated the importance of biodiversity in maintaining multiple ecosystem functions and services (multifunctionality) at local spatial scales, but it is unknown whether similar relationships are found at larger spatial scales in real-world landscapes.
