Estimating flow fields with reduced order models
The estimation of fluid flows inside a centrifugal pump in realtime is a challenging task that cannot be achieved with long-established methods like CFD due to their computational demands.

Flow-induced order–order transitions in amyloid fibril liquid crystalline tactoids [PDF]
Tactoids are liquid crystal droplets with nearly vanishing interfacial tension. Almohammadi et al. show using a microfluidic focusing device how to manipulate them gently enough to facilitate the study of amyloid liquid crystal phase transitions subject ...

Fractional-Order Water Flow Optimizer
The water flow optimizer (WFO) is the latest swarm intelligence algorithm inspired by the shape of water flow. Its advantages of simplicity, efficiency, and robust performance have motivated us to further enhance it.

Understanding Order Flow [PDF]
AbstractThis paper develops a model for understanding end‐user order flow in the FX market. The model addresses several puzzling findings. First, the estimated price‐impact of flow from different end‐user segments is, dollar‐for‐dollar, quite different.

Tandem Cascade Flow Prediction by POD-RBFN Reduced Order Model
The cost of obtaining a large amount of flow field information by traditional experiment or CFD is unacceptable,so it is of significance to develop faster forecasting calculation methods.Proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)is used to extract the dominant

Understanding Order Flow [PDF]
This paper develops a model for understanding end-user order flow in the FX market. The model addresses several puzzling findings. First, the estimated price-impact of flow from different end-user segments is, dollar-for-dollar, quite different. Second, order flow from segments traditionally thought to be liquidity-motivated actually has power to ...

Flow equations and normal ordering [PDF]
In this paper we consider flow-equations where we allow a normal ordering which is adjusted to the one-particle energy of the Hamiltonian. We show that this flow converges nearly always to the stable phase. Starting out from the symmetric Hamiltonian and symmetry-broken normal ordering nearly always yields symmetry breaking below the critical ...

Radiation of higher order modes from circular ducts with flow
This work aims to predict the transfer function of a given modal content inside a circular duct with a bellmouth inlet in the presence of a mean flow. The transfer function is the relation in amplitude and phase between a given mode inside the duct and ...

ORDER FLOWS, FUNDAMENTALS AND EXCHANGE RATES [PDF]
ABSTRACTWe examine the links between end‐user order flows as seen by a major European commercial bank and macroeconomic fundamentals. We show that both exchange rate changes and flows are only weakly related to macroeconomic news announcements and hypothesize that ‘the cat is already out of the bag’ by the time the news is announced.

High-order tensor flow processing using integrated photonic circuits
Convolutional operation is a very efficient way to handle tensor analytics, but it consumes a large quantity of additional memory. Here, the authors demonstrate an integrated photonic tensor processor which directly handles high-order tensors without ...
