Shear flow near solids: Epitaxial order and flow boundary conditions
Physical Review A, 1990We report on molecular-dynamics simulations of Lennard-Jones liquids sheared between two solid walls. The velocity fields, flow boundary conditions, and fluid structure were studied for a variety of wall and fluid properties. A broad spectrum of boundary conditions was observed including slip, no-slip, and locking.

Isospectral Flows of Third Order Operators
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2001Summary: The author considers the third-order linear differential operator \(L_{p,q}=i\frac{d^3}{dx^3}+i\frac{d}{dx}q+iq\frac{d}{dx}+p\) on the unit interval. The associated boundary conditions are \(y(0)=y(1)=0\), \(y'(0)=zy'(1)\) with \(z\in{\mathbb C}\), \(|z|=1\). For all but a finite number of parameters \(z\), the eigenvalues \(\lambda_{j}\) of \(

SECOND ORDER DECOUPLED LOAD FLOW
Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1987ABSTRACT This paper presents a second order decoupled load flow method. The salient features are consideration of all terms in the Taylor series expansion, use of constant decoupled Jacobians and extremely simple computations involved in evaluating the active and reactive power mis-match vectors.

Abstract Room-temperature tensile experiments established that ordered Zr3Al of the Ll2 type obeys the relationship σ ϵ = σ 0,ϵ + kd − 1 2 where σϵ is the flow stress at a given strain ϵ, σ0,ϵ is a strain-dependent frictional stress, d is the average grain diameter, and k is a strain-independent constant of ...

Minimum Flow Time Graph Ordering
2003The graph ordering problem here addressed derives from industrial applications where one can associate vertices with process steps and edges with jobs. A linear layout of the vertices corresponds then to a production schedule, and one wants to find a layout minimizing the average completion time of the jobs.

Persistence in Limit Order Flow
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2006I find that limit order submission is not random. The probability of observing a limit sell (buy) order is highest after another limit sell (buy) order. This first-order positive serial correlation in the order flow cannot be explained by theories offered in the current literature.

Hierarchical Model-Order Reduction Flow
2010This paper presents a hierarchical model-order reduction (HMOR) flow, where the linear parts of a hierarchically defined circuits are divided into independently reducable subcircuits. The impact of the hierarchical structure and circuit partitioning on two MOR methods is discussed and some simulation results are presented.
