In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Spline-in-compression approximation of order of accuracy three (four) for second order non-linear IVPs on a graded mesh

open access: yesMethodsX, 2023
A spline-in-compression method, implicit in nature, for computing numerical solution of second order nonlinear initial-value problems (IVPs) on a mesh not necessarily equidistant is discussed.

Relativistic third-order dissipative fluid dynamics from kinetic theory

open access: yes, 2013
We present the derivation of a novel third-order hydrodynamic evolution equation for shear stress tensor from kinetic theory. Boltzmann equation with relaxation time approximation for the collision term is solved iteratively using Chapman-Enskog like ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Convergence of Szász-Mirakyan type operators

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2007
We introduce certain modifications of Szász-Mirakyan operators and we study approximation properties of these operators. The result is in a form convenient for applications.

Quantitative estimates for perturbed sampling Kantorovich operators in Orlicz spaces

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In the present work, we establish a quantitative estimate for the perturbed sampling Kantorovich operators in Orlicz spaces, in terms of the modulus of smoothness, defined by means of its modular functional.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Approximation of continuous functions on hexagonal domains

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2018
Some approximation properties of hexagonal Fourier series are investigated. The order of approximation by Nörlund means of hexagonal Fourier series is estimated in terms of modulus of continuity.

Adjoint Bernoulli’s Kantorovich–Schurer-Type Operators: Univariate Approximations in Functional Spaces

open access: yesMathematics
In this work, we first establish a new connection between adjoint Bernoulli’s polynomials and gamma function as a new sequence of linear positive operators denoted by Sr,ς,λ(.;.).

Wave-function renormalization for the Coulomb-gas in Wegner-Houghton's RG method

open access: yes, 2000
The RG flow for the sine-Gordon model is determined by means of the method of Wegner and Houghton in next-to-leading order of the derivative expansion.
