Surface chemistry of ordered mesoporous carbons
Carbon, 2002Abstract Ordered mesoporous carbons (OMC) were produced by pyrolysis of hydrocarbons adsorbed in two different silica matrices (MCM-48 and SBA-15), followed by dissolution of the matrix in either hydrofluoric acid or sodium hydroxide. Some carbons were subsequently heat treated at temperatures of up to 1600 °C.

Ordered Mesoporous Carbon/Fused Silica Composites
Advanced Functional Materials, 2008AbstractA series of novel, dense, and interesting ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC)/fused silica composites with different carbon contents has been prepared by a controllable but simple sol‐gel method followed by hot‐pressing. In the as‐sintered OMC/fused silica composites the carbon particles still exist in the form of perfectly ordered carbon nanowires.

Ordered mesoporous carbon particles covered with carbon nanotubes
Carbon, 2006The preparation of carbon nanostructure, namely ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) covered with carbon nanotubes (CNT) was described. The CNTs on the external surface of the OMC were found to form an interconnected network, which facilitates electron transport between the OMC particles. It was shown that the presence of CNTs on the external surface of OMC

Ordered mesoporous carbon for electrochemical sensing: A review
Analytica Chimica Acta, 2012With its well-ordered pore structure, high specific surface area and tunable pore diameters in the mesopore range, ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) is suitable for applications in catalysis and sensing. We report recent applications of OMC in electrochemical sensors and biosensors.

Incorporation of platinum nanoparticles in ordered mesoporous carbon
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2007Platinum nanoparticles were incorporated within the pore system of ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) by impregnating the carbon with a water-in-oil (w/o) microemulsion containing dissolved platinum salt followed by reduction of the platinum ions in situ inside the carbon pore system.

Preparation of ordered mesoporous crystalline alumina replicated by mesoporous carbon
Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2008Abstract Ordered mesoporous alumina with crystalline framework walls has been fabricated using a repeated nanocasting strategy. Mesoporous silica and mesoporous carbon were successively employed as the exotemplates. Constrained by the rigid carbon template structure, the alumina precursor in the channels of the carbon template could be well ...

Electrochemical capacitance of self-ordered mesoporous carbon
Journal of Power Sources, 2003Abstract The capacitance properties of the self-ordered mesoporous carbons (CMK-3), from a template of hexagonal self-ordered mesoporous SiO 2 (SBA15) using sucrose as the carbon source, have been investigated. The pore distribution was narrow with a diameter of 3.90 nm and a surface area of 900 m 2 /g.

Templating synthesis of ordered mesoporous carbon particles
Carbon, 2005This research reports the synthesis of spherical ordered mesoporous carbon particles using mesoporous silica particles as a template. The silica particles with ordered cubic and lamellar mesostructures were synthesized from an aerosol-assisted self-assembly process using block copolymer surfactants as the structural directing agent.

Nonenzymatic glucose detection at ordered mesoporous carbon modified electrode
Bioelectrochemistry, 2009This work reports on a novel nonenzymatic amperometric glucose sensor based on the ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC). Amperometric method was used to evaluate the electrocatalytic activity of the OMC modified electrode toward nonenzymatic glucose in alkaline media in presence and absence of chloride ions.
