Generalized Baеr and Generalized Quasi-Baеr Properties of Skеw Generalized Power Series Rings [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut University Journal of Multidisciplinary Scientific Research
Let R be a ring with identity, (S,≤) an ordered monoid, ω:S→End(R) a monoid homomorphism, and A=R[[S,ω]] the ring of skew generalized power series. The concepts of generalized Baer and generalized quasi-Baer rings are generalization of Baer and quasi ...

*-Ring Orderings

open access: yes, 2016
We examine a number of *-ring orderings, generalizing classical properties of *-positive elements to *-accretives. We also examine *-rings satisfying versions of Blackadar's property (SP), generalizing some basic properties of Rickart *-rings to Blackadar *-rings.

DNA ligase LigE increases bacterial transformation with damaged extracellular DNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The DNA ligase LigE from the naturally competent Gram‐negative bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoaea increases transformation with cut extracellular DNA. This process is ATP‐dependent and relies on the catalytic activity of LigE; it also requires that LigE contains an intact periplasmic localisation sequence, indicating that ligE functions in the periplasm ...

Temperature-Dependent Ordering of the Methyl Group in the Crystal Structure of 5-(2-Chlorophenyl)-7-ethyl-1H-thieno [2,3-E][1,4]diazepin-2(3H)-one

open access: yesCrystals, 2012
5-(2-Chlorophenyl)-7-ethyl-1H-thieno[2,3-e][1,4]diazepin-2(3H)-one, a close analogue of clotiazepam (full agonist at GABA receptor), crystallizes in monoclinic P21/c space group with a = 15.6941(6) Å, b = 10.7909(4) Å, c = 8.6586(3) Å, and β = 102.184(4)°

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

catena-Poly[[aquabis(4-formylbenzoato-κ2O1,O1′)cadmium]-μ-pyrazine-κ2N:N′]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
The polymeric title compound, [Cd(C8H5O3)2(C4H4N2)(H2O)]n, contains two 4-formylbenzoate (FB) anions, one pyrazine molecule and one coordinating water molecule; the FB anions act as bidentate ligands.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Ordered GeSi nanorings grown on patterned Si (001) substrates

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2011
An easy approach to fabricate ordered pattern using nanosphere lithography and reactive iron etching technology was demonstrated. Long-range ordered GeSi nanorings with 430 nm period were grown on patterned Si (001) substrates by molecular beam epitaxy ...

Controlled assembly of rotaxane translational isomers using dual molecular pumps

open access: yesNature Communications
The ability to control the relative motion between different components of molecules with precision is a cornerstone of synthetic nanotechnology. Mechanically interlocked molecules such as rotaxanes offer a platform for exploring this control by means of
