Supermodular Programming on Lattices [PDF]
Questions, concerning the optimization of supermodular functions on finite lattices are considered in the paper. The systematic summary of main authors' and other researchers' results known before, new authors' results are given.

A Morse-type index for critical points of vector functions [PDF]
In this work we study the critical points of vector functions form Rn to Rm with n m, following the definition introduced by S. Smale in the context of vector optimization.

Nest algebras in an arbitrary vector space
We examine the properties of algebras of linear transformations that leave invariant all subspaces in a totally ordered lattice of subspaces of an arbitrary vector space.

Archimedeanization of ordered vector spaces
In the case of an ordered vector space with an order unit, the Archimedeanization method has been developed recently by V.I Paulsen and M. Tomforde. We present a general version of the Archimedeanization which covers arbitrary ordered vector spaces.

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

The Configuration Space of Two Particles Moving on a Graph [PDF]
In this thesis we study the configuration space, F (Γ, 2), of two particles moving without collisions on a graph Γ with a view to calculating the Betti numbers of this space. We develop an intersection theory for cycles in graphs inspired by the classical

Priors for ordered conditional variance and vector partial correlation
Let the vector X = [X1, …, Xp]t have a multivariate normal distribution with unknown population mean vector μ and variance-covariance matrix ∑. This paper develops minimally informative priors (in the sense of Bernardo) for use when the parameter of ...

On certain contraction mappings in a partially ordered vector space. [PDF]
G. Birkhoff [1] and H. Samelson [4] have shown that a means of solving problems concerning the existence and uniqueness of eigenvectors of positive operators is given by introducing a suitable metric on a subset of the cone with respect to which the operators are contractions.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.
