From shake flasks to a bench‐scale bioreactor: scaling up exopolysaccharide production in fed‐batch cultivation of Ensifer meliloti SEMIA 135

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, Volume 100, Issue 9, Page 1818-1830, September 2025.
Abstract BACKGROUND This study investigates the production scale‐up of exopolysaccharide (EPS) by Ensifer meliloti SEMIA 135 from shake flasks to a 5 L bench‐scale fed‐batch bioreactor. Soybean molasses was the cost‐effective nutrient source. The primary aim was to improve conditions for maximizing EPS yield and minimizing production costs.

NezhNPV, a new biocontrol agent for Nesodiprion zhejiangensis Zhou & Xiao (Hymenoptera: Diprionidae), an emerging forest pest

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 1171-1185, March 2025.
Here, a naturally occurring baculovirus and a new biocontrol agent, NezhNPV, which infects a multivoltine forest pest, Nesodiprion zhejiangenis, was characterized by field efficacy trial, electron microscopy and genome sequencing. Abstract BACKGROUND Nesodiprion zhejiangensis, a multivoltine sawfly, is widely distributed in south China and has caused ...

Neuropathogenic and non-neuropathogenic variants of equine herpesvirus 1 in France

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceEquine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) is a common pathogen of the horse which may induce mild respiratory distress, abortion, neonatal death and neurological disease. A single nucleotide polymorphism in the EHV-1 DNA polymerase (ORF30 A(2254)

Equine herpesvirus-1 myeloencephalopathy, an emerging threat of working equids in Ethiopia

open access: yes, 2017
Although equine herpesvirus myeloencephalopathy (EHM) is a sporadic and relatively uncommon manifestation of equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1), it has the potential for causing devastating outbreaks in horses. Up till now, there were no reported EHM outbreaks

New Real-Time PCR Assay Using Allelic Discrimination for Detection and Differentiation of Equine Herpesvirus-1 Strains with A 2254 and G 2254 Polymorphisms

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceA single-nucleotide polymorphism (A 2254 or G 2254 ) in open reading frame 30 (ORF30) has been linked to the neuropathogenic phenotype of equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1).
