Histopathologic Analysis of the Morpho‐Functional Zones of the Human Acetabular Labrum

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The structural and functional adaptation of soft tissues to mechanical load controls their ability to withstand injury and influences their capacity for healing. Similar to the knee meniscus, the acetabular labrum exhibits zonal differences in mechanical load distribution, resulting in distinct regions with unique structural and functional ...

Upstream open reading frames may contain hundreds of novel human exons.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology
Several recent studies have presented evidence that the human gene catalogue should be expanded to include thousands of short open reading frames (ORFs) appearing upstream or downstream of existing protein-coding genes, each of which might create an ...

The Role of Current Mismatch on Reverse‐Bias Stability of Monolithic Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Reverse‐bias stability in monolithic perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells requires a silicon–current‐limited regime. When the perovskite current exceeds the silicon current, the reverse voltage is mainly borne by the silicon cell, reducing perovskite stress.

Viruses contain hidden open reading frames (ORFs) in their genomes.

open access: yes
(A)Schematic diagram of the known ORFs and the predicted reverse ORFs (rORFs) in the viral positive-strand RNA (+RNA) and minus-strand RNA (−RNA) of positive-sense strand RNA (+ssRNA) viruses, respectively. (B) Schematic diagram of the known ORFs and the

Seasonal drivers of plant–soil–microbial community structure and functions in Western Himalayan grasslands, Pakistan

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Plant species richness was greater in summer in both alpine and subalpine grassland ecosystems. Soil moisture demonstrates significant positive correlations with soil organic carbon and total nitrogen across seasonal periods. Microbial α‐diversity peaks during summer but maintains functional stability across seasons.

Lung Cancer Patients Display Increased Expression of Bovine Meat and Milk Factor (BMMF) Proteins in Peritumor Alveolar Macrophages

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Plasmid‐like DNA sequences frequently found in bovine milk and serum have been proposed as infectious agents promoting indirect carcinogenesis. This multi‐omics study detected immune cells positive for these bovine meat and milk factors (BMMFs) in patients with lung cancer, with BMMF expression inversely correlated with smoking intensity.

Short internal open reading frames repress the translation of N-terminally truncated proteoforms

open access: yesEMBO Reports
Internal translation initiation sites, as revealed by ribosome profiling experiments can potentially drive the translation of many N-terminally truncated proteoforms.
