Real-Time Label-Free Biosensing with Gold Nanoprisms: Towards Advanced Cell Monitoring in Microfluidic Platforms [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We present a nanoplasmonic biosensor based on periodic arrays of gold nanoprisms, engineered for high-sensitivity and label-free detection of biomolecular interactions. Integrated within a microfluidic platform, the biosensor is designed to operate under

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Concentration technique for Viable but Non-Culturable organisms v1

open access: yes
This protocol is based on existing protocols, such as those for resuscitating microbes, freeze-drying, and selective isolation. It merges the parts of the three protocols to create a new protocol for isolating microbes via resuscitation, centrifugation, and selective isolation.

Transforming failure into success through organisational learning: An analysis of a manufacturing information system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This paper describes the idiosyncracies of a case study company, through highlighting issues and problems experienced during their attempts to evaluate, implement and realise the holistic implications of a manufacturing information system. Although the

A Scoping Review on Artificial Intelligence–Supported Interventions for Nonpharmacologic Management of Chronic Rheumatic Diseases

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
This review summarizes artificial intelligence (AI)‐supported nonpharmacological interventions for adults with chronic rheumatic diseases, detailing their components, purpose, and current evidence base. We searched Embase, PubMed, Cochrane, and Scopus databases for studies describing AI‐supported interventions for adults with chronic rheumatic diseases.

Biological Strategies to Enhance Healing of the Avascular Area of the Meniscus

open access: yesStem Cells International, 2012
Meniscal injuries in the vascularized peripheral part of the meniscus have a better healing potential than tears in the central avascular zone because meniscal healing principally depends on its vascular supply.
