The Production of Organic Acids
Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, 1992The production of organic acids covers two aspects: first, the metabolic pathways involved in the biosynthesis, and, second, the industrial process strategy adopted. The review seeks to show the underlying biochemical similarities in the biosynthesis of organic acids and the resulting similarities in the commercial processes.

Organic Acids in Carbonate Acidizing
SPE Production & Facilities, 2004Summary This paper discusses the use of organic acid as a stimulation fluid in carbonate formations. Organic acids, such as acetic or formic acid, have been used for many years as alternatives to HCl because of the retarded reaction rate, low corrosivity, and reduced tendency to form acid/oil sludge in asphaltene-rich crudes.
