Sonication‐Responsive Organic Afterglow Emulsions
Advanced Functional Materials, 2023AbstractIn contrast to their fluorescence counterparts, stimuli‐responsive organic afterglow materials display distinct advantages to function normally in the presence of strong fluorescence background. However, most of the stimuli‐responsive afterglow materials can only work in their solid states with those in aqueous medium being rarely reported.

Modulating Tri‐Mode Emission for Single‐Component White Organic Afterglow
Angewandte Chemie - International Edition, 2021AbstractAchieving single‐component white organic afterglow remains a great challenge owing to the difficulties in simultaneously supporting long‐lived emissions from varied excited states of a molecule for complementary afterglow. Here, an extraordinary tri‐mode emission from the radiative decays of singlet (S1), triplet (T1), and stabilized triplet ...

Afterglow Organic Light‐Emitting Diode
Advanced Materials, 2015An afterglow organic light-emitting diode (OLED) that displays electroluminescence with long transient decay after it is turned off is demonstrated. This OLED exhibits blue and green dual emission originating from fluorescence and phosphorescence, respectively. A phosphorescence lifetime of 4.3 s is achieved.

AbstractIt remains challenging to fabricate highly‐efficient and long‐lived organic afterglow materials, especially in the case of red afterglow systems. Here we develop advanced charge transfer (CT) technology to boost afterglow efficiency and lifetimes in fluoranthene‐containing dopant‐matrix systems.

Achieving High Afterglow Brightness in Organic Dopant‐Matrix Systems
Advanced Optical Materials, 2021AbstractAfterglow brightness upon ceasing excitation represents an important parameter for afterglow material applications, while purely‐organic room‐temperature afterglow materials with high quantum yields, long emission lifetimes, and strong absorption capability, which are necessary to realize high afterglow brightness, remain rarely reported. Using

Host Surface-Induced Excitation Wavelength-Dependent Organic Afterglow
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2023The design and construction of organic afterglow materials is an attractive but formidably challenging task due to the low intersystem crossing efficiency and nonradiative decay. Here, we developed a host surface-induced strategy to achieve excitation wavelength-dependent (Ex-De) afterglow emission through a facile dropping process.

Excited State Modulation for Organic Afterglow: Materials and Applications
Advanced Materials, 2016Organic afterglow materials, developed recently by breaking through the difficulties in modulating ultrafast‐decayed excited states, exhibit ultralong‐lived emission for persistent luminescence with lifetimes of several orders of magnitude longer than traditional fluorescent and phosphorescent emissions at room temperature. Their exceptional properties,

The organic ligands coordinated long afterglow phosphor
Materials Letters, 2007Abstract The Eu 2+ activated strontium aluminates codoped by Dy 3+ coordinated by different ligands were synthesized. The coordination of ligands with SAO-ED was characterized by FT-IR spectra and XPS. The introduction of organic ligands didn't change the excitation and emission spectra of SAO-ED, and this was proved by spectrophotometer (F-4500 FL)

Organic full-color narrowband afterglow
Materials HorizonsDeveloping a facile and universally applicable strategy to achieve organic full-color narrowband afterglow (OFNA) is highly desirable, as it meets the strategic demands for low-cost and high-color-purity displays in flexible electronics.
