The organic ligands coordinated long afterglow phosphor

Materials Letters, 2007
Abstract The Eu 2+ activated strontium aluminates codoped by Dy 3+ coordinated by different ligands were synthesized. The coordination of ligands with SAO-ED was characterized by FT-IR spectra and XPS. The introduction of organic ligands didn't change the excitation and emission spectra of SAO-ED, and this was proved by spectrophotometer (F-4500 FL)

Excited State Modulation for Organic Afterglow: Materials and Applications

Advanced Materials, 2016
Organic afterglow materials, developed recently by breaking through the difficulties in modulating ultrafast‐decayed excited states, exhibit ultralong‐lived emission for persistent luminescence with lifetimes of several orders of magnitude longer than traditional fluorescent and phosphorescent emissions at room temperature. Their exceptional properties,

Anti‐Smudge Organic Afterglow Panels

Advanced Functional Materials
AbstractOrganic afterglow panels show promising applications in display and information anti‐counterfeiting. Like other panels, organic afterglow panels are susceptible to contamination when used, which can affect their aesthetics and clarity. Here, a kind of visible‐light‐excitable anti‐smudge organic afterglow panels based on a dopant‐matrix strategy

Realize efficient organic afterglow from simple halogenated acridan derivatives

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2021
Abstract Organic molecules with persistent room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) have attracted considerable attention due to their broad applications, but typically suffered from low emission intensity and short lifetime. In this contribution, a twisted donor-acceptor (D-A) system by simple conjugation of acridan and aryl halide is proposed to ...

Intense Organic Afterglow Enabled by Molecular Engineering in Dopant-Matrix Systems

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2021
We report intense dopant-matrix afterglow systems with an afterglow efficiency (ΦAG) of 47% and an afterglow lifetime (τAG) of 1.3 s. Luminescent difluoroboron β-diketonate (BF2bdk) dopants and their deuterated counterparts are designed with naphthalene and carboxylic acid groups. After doping into benzoic acid (BA) matrices, room-temperature afterglow

Organic full-color narrowband afterglow

Materials Horizons
Developing a facile and universally applicable strategy to achieve organic full-color narrowband afterglow (OFNA) is highly desirable, as it meets the strategic demands for low-cost and high-color-purity displays in flexible electronics.

Phosphorescent Calcium-Based Metal–Organic Framework with Second-Scale Long Afterglow

Inorganic Chemistry, 2021
Presented here is a calcium-based metal-organic framework (Ca-MOF) with obvious room temperature phosphorescence. Notably, a long afterglow can be observed by the naked eye and lasts about 4 s, which is mainly attributed to the unique framework structure of the Ca-MOF.

Organic‐Inorganic Hybrid Ferroelectric and Antiferroelectric with Afterglow Emission

Angewandte Chemie
AbstractLuminescent ferroelectrics are holding exciting prospect for integrated photoelectronic devices due to potential light‐polarization interactions at electron scale. Integrating ferroelectricity and long‐lived afterglow emission in a single material would offer new possibilities for fundamental research and applications, however, related reports ...

Unusual room temperature afterglow in some crystalline organic compounds

Nature, 1978
STRONG room temperature phosphorescence studies of certain doped solid systems1–4 have shown that the characteristic phosphorescence peak wavelengths agree with those established for the corresponding dopants dissolved in 77K systems; the room temperature lifetimes being smaller by a factor of 1.5–2, depending upon the nature of the matrix.

Recent Advances in Cellulose‐Derived Organic Afterglow Materials

Macromolecular Rapid Communications
ABSTRACT Cellulose‐based organic afterglow materials have gained considerable interest due to their low toxicity, cost‐effectiveness, and environmental benefits compared to traditional phosphors, with promising applications in anti‐counterfeiting, bioimaging, and sensing. Although extensive research has been conducted on cellulose and
