Relieving the Photosensitivity of Organic Field‐Effect Transistors

Advanced Materials, 2019
AbstractIt is generally believed that the photoresponse behavior of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs) reflects the intrinsic property of organic semiconductors. However, this photoresponse hinders the application of OFETs in transparent displays as driven circuits due to the current instability resulting from the threshold voltage shift under ...

Tuning the Photoresponse in Organic Field-Effect Transistors

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2012
We report on the fabrication of solution-processed organic phototransistors (OPTs) based on perylenebis(dicarboximide)s (PDIs). We found that the responsivity to the photoillumination depends on the transistor's channel length and that it can be tuned by varying the device geometry.

Ambipolar Multi‐Stripe Organic Field‐Effect Transistors

Advanced Materials, 2011
Here we demonstrate a new architecture for ambipolar device, termed multi-stripe OFET (MSOFET), where the current flows through a planar array of precisely-defined sub-micrometric stripes (wires) made of two types of highly-ordered organic ...

Monolayer organic field-effect transistors

Science China Chemistry, 2019
Monolayer organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) are attracting worldwide interest in device physics and novel applications due to their ultrathin active layer for two-dimensional charge transport. The monolayer films are generally prepared by thermal evaporation, the Langmuir technique or self-assembly process, etc., but their electrical performance

Organic Field-Effect Transistors

Advanced Materials, 1998
Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) were first described in 1987. Their characteristics have undergone spectacular improvements during the last two or three years. At the same time, several models have been developed to rationalize their operating mode.

All-organic field effect transistors

MRS Proceedings, 2003
AbstractIn this work we present fully patterned organic transistors based on selective electropolymerization of conducting polymers that enables simple fabrication of micron scale features. It involves fabrication of pentacene field effect transistors in which the conducting, insulating parts as well as the substrate are all made of polymers.

A bright future for organic field-effect transistors

Nature Materials, 2006
Field-effect transistors are emerging as useful device structures for efficient light generation from a variety of materials, including inorganic semiconductors, carbon nanotubes and organic thin films. In particular, organic light-emitting field-effect transistors are a new class of electro-optical devices that could provide a novel architecture to ...

On the degradation of organic field-effect transistors

Proceedings. The 16th International Conference on Microelectronics, 2004. ICM 2004., 2005
Degradation experiments with organic thin film transistors (OTFT) made of the p-conducting organic semiconductor pentacene revealed a distinct dependence of the electrical transistor parameters to the ambient conditions. A sample that was kept unprotected in dark ambient air conditions was found to be still operating after 9 months of degradation.

Bio-organic field effect transistors

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
This paper reports on the use of new DNA-based biopolymers as the semiconducting layer in field effect transistors. Thin-film field effect transistor (FET) structures are fabricated with two different DNA-biopolymers as semiconductor layers, and two different field effect transistor structures are studied.
