All-organic field effect transistors

MRS Proceedings, 2003
AbstractIn this work we present fully patterned organic transistors based on selective electropolymerization of conducting polymers that enables simple fabrication of micron scale features. It involves fabrication of pentacene field effect transistors in which the conducting, insulating parts as well as the substrate are all made of polymers.

Bio-organic field effect transistors

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
This paper reports on the use of new DNA-based biopolymers as the semiconducting layer in field effect transistors. Thin-film field effect transistor (FET) structures are fabricated with two different DNA-biopolymers as semiconductor layers, and two different field effect transistor structures are studied.

Organic Field-Effect Transistors

Advanced Materials, 1998
Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) were first described in 1987. Their characteristics have undergone spectacular improvements during the last two or three years. At the same time, several models have been developed to rationalize their operating mode.

Organic field-effect bipolar transistors

Applied Physics Letters, 1996
Organic field-effect transistors (FETs) which employ two carefully selected active materials can function as n channel, p channel, or both n- and p-channel devices. It is shown that under an appropriate set of bias conditions the channel current in FETs with α-hexathienylene (α-6T) and C60 active layers consist of electron and hole components that are ...

Switchable Hydrogel-Gated Organic Field-Effect Transistors

Langmuir, 2018
Stimuli-responsive hydrogels represent a class of materials capable of reversibly switching their morphological and physicochemical characteristics. An ultrathin poly(acrylic acid) film (ca. 6 nm) grafted onto the gate of a p-type EGOFET is studied, and the correlation between the swelling state of the hydrogel and the transistor output characteristics

Doped bottom-contact organic field-effect transistors

Nanotechnology, 2018
The influence of doping on doped bottom-gate bottom-contact organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) is discussed. It is shown that the inclusion of a doped layer at the dielectric/organic semiconductor layer leads to a significant reduction in the contact resistances and a fine control of the threshold voltage.

Crystalline Organic Pigment-Based Field-Effect Transistors

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2017
Three conjugated pigment molecules with fused hydrogen bonds, 3,7-diphenylpyrrolo[2,3-f]indole-2,6(1H,5H)-dione (BDP), (E)-6,6'-dibromo-[3,3'-biindolinylidene]-2,2'-dione (IIDG), and 3,6-di(thiophen-2-yl)-2,5-dihydropyrrolo-[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (TDPP), were studied in this work.

Thin film organic channel field effect transistor

Synthetic Metals, 1994
Summary form only given, as follows. Field Effect Transistors (FETs) the channels of which are made of 4 bi-layers of a conducting LB film (EDTIT, i.e. Ethylene-di-thio-tetra-thia-fulvalene) have been successfully made. The gate is made of highly doped silicon and the gate insulator is thermal oxide 1000A thick (breakdown field ⩾ 8 MV/cm, leakage ...

Biofunctional Electrolyte‐Gated Organic Field‐Effect Transistors

Advanced Materials, 2012
The surface modification of solution-gated organic field-effect transistors is investigated. The introduction of different surface groups leads to a control of the pH sensitivity, determined by the pKa value of the added surface moiety. Together with the successful demonstration of enzyme modification of the surface, this work reveals the large ...
