Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution Activity of MoS2 Through Solid Solution Modification of Its Edge Sites With Ruthenium

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Modulating the edge sites of molybdenum disulfide significantly boosts hydrogen production. By depositing Ru to form an edge‐coordinated solid solution, we accelerate water dissociation and shift the hydrogen evolution reaction pathway to Volmer–Tafel.

Fluxional Monomers Remodel Crystallinity at Low Loadings in Diketopyrrolopyrrole Co‐Thienothiophene Conjugated Polymers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Bullvalene is a fluxional molecule capable of adopting numerous conformations spontaneously; just like a Rubik's Cube. In this paper, we explore the incorporation of bullvalene into the backbone of a highly rigid conjugated polymer semiconductor and observe that the inherent fluxionality reduces average crystallite size.

Beyond Radical Emitters: Hot‐Exciton Electroluminescence From Singlet Diradicaloids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first hot‐exciton mechanism in a singlet diradicaloid is demonstrated in a polychlorinated Thiele hydrocarbon‐based organic light‐emitting transistor. Reverse intersystem crossing involving the T2 and bright singly excited states enables electroluminescence beyond the 25% spin‐statistical limit, leading to remarkable external quantum efficiency ...

Enhancing Stability of Layered Double Perovskites With a Naphthalene Diimide Spacer Toward Photoelectrochemical Application

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A bulky, hydrophobic naphthalene diimide dication spacer (NDI‐dH2+) endows the lead‐free layered double perovskite (NDI‐dH)2AgBiI8 with threefold‐higher in‐plane carrier mobility, an order‐of‐magnitude lower trap density, and exceptional water tolerance compared to aliphatic and benzene‐based analogues, enabling the first sustained photoelectrochemical

Organic Heterostructure Field-Effect Transistors

Science, 1995
Organic field-effect transistors have been developed that function as either n-channel or p-channel devices, depending on the gate bias. The two active materials are α-hexathienylene (α-6T) and C 60 . The characteristics of these devices depend mainly on the molecular orbital energy levels and transport properties ...

Organic Junction Field‐Effect Transistor

Advanced Functional Materials, 2013
The realization and performance of a novel organic field‐effect transistor—the organic junction field‐effect transistor (JFET)—is discussed. The transistors are based on the modulation of the thickness of a depletion layer in an organic pin junction with varying gate potential.
