Contrast-enhancement in organic light-emitting diodes

open access: yesOptics Express, 2005
A high-contrast organic light-emitting diode (OLED) structure is presented. Because of poor contrast of conventional OLED resulting from high reflective metal cathode, the hybrid cathode structure was developed for low reflectivity. It consists the semitransparent cathode layers, passivation layers and a thick light-absorbing film.

Top-Emission Organic Light Emitting Diode Fabrication Using High Dissipation Graphite Substrate

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2014
This study uses a synthetic graphite fiber as the heat dissipation substrate for top-emission organic light emitting diode (TEOLED) to reduce the impact from joule heat. UV glue (YCD91) was spin coated onto the substrate as the insulation layer.

Reconfigurable organic light-emitting diodes [PDF]

open access: yesCLEO/Pacific Rim 2003. The 5th Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8671), 2004
In this article, we report a promising type of reconfigurable OLEDs incorporating a thin carrier-blocking layer as the sacrificial fusing layer. In such devices, the carrier-blocking layer has lower glass transition temperature than neighboring layers.

Study on the Conduction Mechanism of Organic Light-Emitting Diode Using One-Dimensional Discontinuous Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We proposed the conduction mechanism of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) using a one-dimensional discontinuous model. We assumed that each emitting molecule corresponds to a hopping site according to the actual charge transfer between adjacent ...
