Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

2017
The 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded “for the invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) which has enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources” [1, 2, 3], setting a clear target to mankind: energy-efficient and environmental-friendly light sources [4]. The first organic LED (OLED) was reported in 1987 by a team at Kodak [5]

Tandem Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

Advanced Materials, 2016
A tandem organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) is an organic optoelectronic device that has two or more electroluminescence (EL) units connected electrically in series with unique intermediate connectors within the device. Researchers have studied this new OLED architecture with growing interest and have found that the current efficiency of a tandem OLED

Nanoscale Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Nano Letters, 2005
This study reports the fabrication and characterization of nanoscale organic light-emitting diodes (nano-OLEDs) based on poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV). The nano-OLEDs were fabricated by spin casting MEH-PPV into cylindrical nanoholes lithographically patterned into silicon nitride.

Photoprogrammable Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

Angewandte Chemie, 2009

White Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

Advanced Materials, 2010
AbstractWhite organic light‐emitting diodes (WOLEDs) offer a range of attractive characteristics and are in several regards conceptually different from most currently used light sources. From an application perspective, their advantages include a high power efficiency that rivals the performance of fluorescent lamps and inorganic LEDs and the potential

Afterglow Organic Light‐Emitting Diode

Advanced Materials, 2015
An afterglow organic light-emitting diode (OLED) that displays electroluminescence with long transient decay after it is turned off is demonstrated. This OLED exhibits blue and green dual emission originating from fluorescence and phosphorescence, respectively. A phosphorescence lifetime of 4.3 s is achieved.

Organic light emitting diodes

Proceedings of 8th International Conference on Indium Phosphide and Related Materials, 2002
Organic light emitting diodes with a complex multilayer structure have been successfully fabricated for bright light emission in the entire visible spectral region. The CIE coordinates of the blue, green, and red emitting electroluminescent devices are plotted in the chromaticity diagram. Double heterostructure organic LEDs with separate hole injection
