Effectiveness of the Application of Organic Matter and Trichoderma Viride From Suppresive Soil to Control Fusarium Wilt on Banana Plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Effectiveness of the application of organic matter and Trichoderma viride from suppresive soil to control fusarium wilt on banana plant. Fusarium wilt disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense is one of the problems in banana production.

Diabetes‐induced vascular calcification is associated with low pyrophosphate and its oral supplementation prevents calcification in diabetic mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...

Distribution of Nutrient Matters in Saline Lakes in the Dry Valleys, South Victoria Land, Antarctica

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1977
The distribution of nutrient matters in the saline lakes in the Dry Valleys was studied on the spot in the summers 1971-1972 and 1972-1973. The presence of a large amount of nitrogen compounds in the saline lakes was pointed out and their source was ...

Effects of clay microstructure and compost quality on chlordecone retention in volcanic tropical soils: consequences on pesticide lability and plant contamination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The scientific and economic context of our study is related to the pollution of the soils, fresh and marine water by a persistent organochlorine pesticide (chlordecone) in a tropical context (French West Indies).

ATP13A2 is involved in intracellular polyamine transport in lung epithelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Spermidine transport in lung epithelial cells involves the polyamine transporter ATP13A2. Cell proliferation is associated with the upregulation of ATP13A2. Polyamines are present in all living cells and are implicated in various crucial cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy.

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Unitas and concordia in the confessions: significance for fellowship among Lutheran churches [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
There is a sufficient basis in the Augsburg Confession for doctrinal and confessional unity among Lutherans. The paper suggests that while sufficient debate has taken place on the theological substance of the Confessions, not enough attention has been ...
