Energetic disorder at the metal/organic semiconductor interface

open access: yes, 2005
The physics of organic semiconductors is dominated by the effects of energetic disorder. We show that image forces reduce the electrostatic component of the total energetic disorder near an interface with a metal electrode.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Charge carrier relaxation model in disordered organic semiconductors

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2013
The relaxation phenomena of charge carrier in disordered organic semiconductors have been demonstrated and investigated theoretically. An analytical model describing the charge carrier relaxation is proposed based on the pure hopping transport theory ...

A Rational Design of Isoindigo‐Based Conjugated Microporous n‐Type Semiconductors for High Electron Mobility and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
The development of n‐type organic semiconductors has evolved significantly slower in comparison to that of p‐type organic semiconductors mainly due to the lack of electron‐deficient building blocks with stability and processability. However, to realize a

Electric field induced charge injection or exhaustion in organic thin film transistor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The conductivity of organic semiconductors is measured {\it in-situ} and continuously with a bottom contact configuration, as a function of film thickness at various gate voltages.

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Glass transition temperature prediction of disordered molecular solids

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials, 2021
Glass transition temperature, T g, is the key quantity for assessing morphological stability and molecular ordering of films of organic semiconductors. A reliable prediction of T g from the chemical structure is, however, challenging, as it is sensitive ...

Electronic transport and quantum localization effects in organic semiconductors

open access: yes, 2012
We explore the charge transport mechanism in organic semiconductors based on a model that accounts for the thermal intermolecular disorder at work in pure crystalline compounds, as well as extrinsic sources of disorder that are present in current ...
