Abstract A model that predicts the individual and mixed fluxes of pure solvent and surfactant through PDMS organic solvent nanofiltration membranes as well as the retention of the non-ionic surfactant Marlipal 24/70 from 1-dodecene was developed based on the solution diffusion model.

Mixed matrix membranes for organic solvent nanofiltration
Journal of Membrane Science, 2014Abstract Polyimide (PI) (P84) based organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membranes are well documented in the literature. One drawback of P84 based OSN membranes is the decline in the flux performance over time and with pressure. This is attributed to the compaction of the membrane top layer.

Towards predictive models for organic solvent nanofiltration
2018Organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) is a promising technology for an energy-efficient separation of organic mixtures. However, due to the lack of suitable models that allow for a quantitative prediction of the separation performance in different chemical systems OSN is rarely considered during conceptual process design.

Characterisation of organic solvent nanofiltration membranes
2012Interests in application of organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) technology based on synthetic membranes to molecular separation processes have been growing rapidly in recent years. The main classes of OSN flat sheet polymeric membranes are integrally skinned asymmetric (ISA) and thin film composite (TFC) membranes.
