Cationic Polymers Remarkably Boost Haloalkane Dehalogenase Activity in Organic Solvent Solutions and the Molecular Implications

Molecules, 2023
Applications of haloalkane dehalogenase DhaA in biocatalysis are limited by its unfavorable performance in organic solvents. Our previous work proved that mutations of surface positive-charged residues enhanced the organic solvent resistance of DhaA ...

Organic solution-phase transmission electron microscopy of copolymer nanoassembly morphology and dynamics

Cell Reports Physical Science, 2022
Summary: Direct imaging of the dynamics of polymeric assemblies in organic solvents is an outstanding challenge. Herein, we apply liquid cell transmission electron microscopy (LCTEM) to study polymeric nanomaterials in organic solvents. LCTEM is distinct

Sonoluminescence intensity and ultrasonic cavitation temperature in organic solvents: Effects of generated radicals

Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, 2023
Ultrasonic cavitation in organic solvents remains poorly understood in contrast with aqueous systems, largely because of complexities related to solvent decomposition. In this study, we sonicated different types of organic solvents (i.e.

Current–Voltage Characteristics and Solvent Dissociation of Bipolar Membranes in Organic Solvents

Membranes, 2022
In this work, the chronopotentiometric responses, pH changes, and current–voltage (I–V) characteristics of bipolar membrane (BPM)/LiCl–organic solvent systems were measured and compared with those of the BPM/LiCl–water system.
