Functionalized Arylacetylene Oligomers for Organic Thin‐Film Transistors (OTFTs)
Oligo(arylacetylene)‐based organic thin‐film transistors (OTFTs) possess good structural order and smooth film morphologies, and exhibit field‐effect mobilities of 0.3 cm2 V–1 s–1, one of the highest field‐effect mobilities reported for an OTFT device that does not possess a self‐assembled‐layer configuration.

The impact of electrode work function on the performance of an organic thin film transistor (OTFT) is studied. High work function metal electrodes are a good choice for reducing the threshold voltage and reducing the injection barrier. Four different metals copper(Cu), aluminum (Al), gold (Au) and platinum (Pt) are used for gate electrode.
