Organochlorine compounds in human brain
Human & Experimental Toxicology, 1996Having observed polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in brain tissue obtained post mortem from two men we have carried out a study of organochlorine compounds in frontal cortex from patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and from controls. No PCBs were found in any of those samples.

Organochlorine compounds in aquatic environments
Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1980The body burdens of five organochlorine compounds were determined in several marine fishes and invertebrates from two localities in Norway. DDE, PCBs, and pentachlorobenzene showed uniform levels, especially on a fat weight basis, while hexachlorobenzene and octachlorostyrene were detected at various levels in the different species.

Persistent Organochlorine Compounds and Birth Weight
Annals of Epidemiology, 2003To determine whether weight at birth is related to prenatal exposure to persistent organochlorine compounds.Birth weight was obtained for 197 singleton infants drawn from the general population born in two cities in Ukraine in 1993 to 1994.

Organochlorinated compounds in Caspian Sea sediments
Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2004Several organochlorinated contaminants, including numerous pesticides, were determined in coastal sediments from the Caspian Sea. The most important contaminants were p,p'-DDT (up to 7400 pg g(-1)) and its breakdown products, p,p'-DDD (up to 3400 pg g(-1)) and p,p'-DDE (up to 1300 pg g(-1)). Although the contamination was most severe in Azerbaijan, the

Global Distribution of Persistent Organochlorine Compounds
Science, 1995The global distribution of 22 potentially harmful organochlorine compounds was investigated in more than 200 tree bark samples from 90 sites worldwide. High concentrations of organochlorines were found not only in some developing countries but also in industrialized countries, which continue to be highly contaminated even though the use of many of ...

Organochlorine Compounds in Pine Needles from Croatia
Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2012Levels of seven organochlorine pesticides and 17 congeners of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were analysed in pine needles collected at eight sites along eastern Adriatic coast (Croatia). The concentration of organochlorine pesticides and PCBs ranged between 0 (below determination limit) and 7.44 ng g(-1) in 1-year-old needles and between 0 (below ...
