Recent Advances in PBAT (Nano) Composite Materials for Food Packaging: A Comprehensive Review
Poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT) is the most commonly used plastic. PBAT‐based (nano) composites provide a lot of potential as food wrapping. The preparation of plastics based on PBAT composites is described. PBAT materials' distinctive properties lead to suitability for application in food packaging.

Hydraulic Conductivity of Organoclay and Organoclay-Sand Mixtures to Fuels and Organic Liquids
Abstract Hydraulic conductivity, swelling, and liquid sorption capacity (i.e., maximum organic liquid mass bound per mass organoclay solid) were measured for an organoclay with dimethylammonium bound to the surface. Five fuels (No. 1 fuel oil, No. 2 fuel oil, diesel, jet fuel, and gasoline), four pure organic liquids (methanol, phenol, ethylbenzene ...

In light of increasing applications of compostable materials, surface treatment on PLA to increase roughness and hydrophobicity has been investigated. However, modifying wettability might hinder degradation. UVC exposure has significant effects on the wettability of textured PLA substrates, allowing a complete wettability switch due to chain scission ...

Barrier Properties and Structural Study of Nanocomposite of HDPE/Montmorillonite Modified with Polyvinylalcohol [PDF]
In this work was studied the permeation of CO2 in films of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and organoclay modified with polyvinylalcohol (MMTHDTMA/PVA) obtained frommelt blending. Permeation study showed that the incorporation of the modified organoclay

Organoclay Nanocomposites from Ethylene–Acrylic Acid Copolymers
AbstractSummary: A study of the structure–property relationships for nanocomposites prepared by melt compounding from ethylene–acrylic acid copolymers of varied composition and molecular architecture, and organoclays modified with different ammonium ions has been made by DSC, POM, SEM, TEM, WAXD, and rheological and mechanical tests.

Influence of different organoclays on the curing, morphology, and dynamic mechanical properties of an epoxy adhesive [PDF]
The thermal, mechanical, and adhesive properties of nanoclay-modified adhesives were investigated. Two organically modified montmorillonites: Cloisite 93A (C93A) and Nanomer I.30E (I.30E) were used as reinforcement of an epoxy adhesive.
