Influence of different organoclays on the curing, morphology, and dynamic mechanical properties of an epoxy adhesive [PDF]
The thermal, mechanical, and adhesive properties of nanoclay-modified adhesives were investigated. Two organically modified montmorillonites: Cloisite 93A (C93A) and Nanomer I.30E (I.30E) were used as reinforcement of an epoxy adhesive.

Patenting activity in manufacturing organoclays for nanocomposite applications [PDF]
peer reviewedFor the last two decades, intensive research has been focused on developing reinforced polymers with incorporation of nanometric fillers. Amongst the different types of nanofillers, those based on layered silicates (commonly known as clays),

Brazilian organoclays as nanostructured sorbents of petroleum-derived hydrocarbons
Organophilic clays were prepared using a bentonite from the town of Boa Vista, state of Paraíba, Brazil, and a quaternary ammonium salt (Genamin CTAC-50). The materials obtained were characterized by X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy.

Studies on PEBAX/organoclay nanocomposites by meltintercalation process: Effect of organoclay surface [PDF]
AbstractIn this study, the polyetherblock amide (PEBAX)® nanocomposites with 2.5 % and 5 wt.% organoclay, based on Cloisite 30B (montmorillonite intercalated with dimethyl, 2-ethyl hexyl hydrogenated tallow alkyl ammonium cation), were prepared by the melt-intercalation process. The structural properties, thermal behaviors and the mechanical properties

Geotechnical properties of some organoclays
The engineering characteristics of clay are dependant on its mineral and chemical structure. When the clay soils interacted with water, their volume and shear strength and compressibility properties change gradually. Large amount of decrease in terms of the shear strength of clay soils due to swelling is observed.
