Novel sorbitan monostearate organogels

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1999
Sorbitan monostearate, a hydrophobic nonionic surfactant, gels a number of organic solvents such as hexadecane, isopropyl myristate, and a range of vegetable oils. Gelation is achieved by dissolving/dispersing the organogelator in hot solvent to produce an organic solution/dispersion, which, on cooling sets to the gel state.

Phosphorescent Platinum Acetylide Organogelators

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2008
The series of platinum acetylide oligomers (PAOs) with the general structure trans,trans-[(RO)3Ph-C[triple bond]C-Pt(PMe3)2-C[triple bond]C-(Ar)-C[triple bond]C-Pt(PMe3)2-C[triple bond]C-Ph(OR)3], where Ar = 1,4-phenylene, 2,5-thienylene, or bis-2,5-(S-2-methylbutoxy)-1,4-phenylene and R = n-C12H25 gel hydrocarbon solvents at concentrations above 1 mM.

Solvatochromic Fluorescence of a GFP Chromophore-Containing Organogelator in Solutions and Organogels

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2021
Solvatofluorochromism, a solvation effect on the fluorescence color of an organic dye, is a property generally limited to fluid solutions. We demonstrate herein the concept of solid-state solvatofluorochromism by using an organogelator (1-SG), which consists of a solvatofluorochromic green fluorescence protein (GFP) chromophore (1) and a sugar gelator (

A photo-responsive organogel

Chem. Commun., 2004
A photo-responsive organogel has been made by addition of a novel stilbene-containing photo-surfactant to toluene: exposure to UV light led to a gel-to-sol transition with spatial control.

Highly Stable Amphiphilic Organogel with Exceptional Anti-icing Performance.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2019
Various organogel materials with either a liquid or solid surface layer have recently been designed and prepared. In this work, amphiphilic organogels (AmOG) are innovatively developed from copolymer P(PDMS-r-PEG-r-GMA) and 2,2'-diaminodiphenyldisulfide ...

An examination of carbopol hydrogel/organogel bigels of thymoquinone prepared by microwave irradiation method

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 2020
Nigella sativa L. is shown wide spread over the world and contains many useful phytochemicals. Much of the biological activity of the seeds has been shown due to the presence of thymoquinone (TQ). Its poor aqueous solubility of TQ hinders its delivery to
