Organogelators and Polymer Crystallisation

Macromolecular Symposia, 2006
AbstractThe specific impact of low molecular weight organic gels on polymer crystallisation is examined. Conventional nucleating agents (NA) influence the polyolefins crystallisation and improve their mechanical properties, via an epitaxial mechanism.

Review Article On Organogels Methodology And Types Of Organogelators

Gel is a partial preparation with an external solvent that can be non-polar ( organogels) or polar (hydrogels), existing in a three-dimensional network structure of different sizes. Organogels are bicontinuous systems formed by a gelling agent and a nonpolar solvent, which may or may not contain water molecules in the self-assembled structure of the ...

Proton-sensitive fluorescent organogels.

Organic & biomolecular chemistry, 2004
A 1,10-phenanthroline-appended cholesterol-based gelator (1) and its nongelling reference compound (2) were synthesized. Among 19 solvents tested herein, gelator 1 could gelate 11 solvents including alcohols, dipolar aprotic solvents, organic acids and a base (triethylamine), indicating that 1 acts as a versatile gelator.
