Thermolysis of imidates: A new method for the generation of carbonyl ylides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Thermolysis of dimethyl 2-[(3-oxo-3H-isoindol-1-yl)oxy]malonate (8) promotes a [1,4]-H shift in the imidic N¼C O CH fragment of the starting molecule, which leads to a reactive carbonyl ylide.

Investigating the Effect of UV Irradiation and TiO2 Addition on Heavy Metal Adsorption by Inverse Vulcanized Sulfur Polymers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 30, Issue 71, December 18, 2024.
The influence of light exposure on the process of mercury adsorption was explored in this study. Our findings reveal that exposure to UV−A wavelengths (315 nm–400 nm), in combination with the addition of titanium dioxide (TiO2), enhances the adsorption capacity of a sulfur‐rich polymer.

Triplet State‐Promoted Kumada‐Corriu Coupling Catalyzed by Hydrotris(3,5‐diisopropylpyrazolyl)boratocobalt(III)diiodide

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 27, Issue 34, December 2, 2024.
The light‐sensitive Kumada‐Corriu C−C hetero‐coupling of halogeno‐arenes and an arylmagnesiumbromides promoted by TpiPrCoI2, occurs with yields>80 % thanks to a singlet‐to‐triplet spin state d‐d transitions at bisaryl‐cobalt catalytic intermediates. Abstract The Kumada‐Corriu hetero‐coupling between an halogeno‐arene and an arylmagnesiumbromide can be ...

Henkel‐like Decarboxylation Produces Mononuclear Arylalkalis, [4‐(CH3)3N(C6H4)M]+ which Hydrolyse and Undergo Surprising SN2 Reactions Between Alkali Hydroxides and (CH3)3NC6H5+

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 27, Issue 31, November 4, 2024.
Mass‐spectrometry based metal‐mediated decarboxylation reactions continue to be a wellspring to form and study the reactions of organometallics. Here the mononuclear arylalkali cations [4‐(CH3)3N(C6H4)M]+ have been prepared and their hydrolysis reactions studied.

Protective Effects of Syringic Acid Against Oxidative Damage, Apoptosis, Autophagy, Inflammation, Testicular Histopathologic Disorders, and Impaired Sperm Quality in the Testicular Tissue of Rats Induced by Mercuric Chloride

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, Volume 39, Issue 10, Page 4803-4814, October 2024.
ABSTRACT Mercury (Hg) is one of the most toxic heavy metals that damage testicular tissue. Mercury chloride (HgCl2) is one of the most toxic forms of mercury that can easily cross biological membranes. Syringic acid (SA) is a natural flavonoid found in many vegetables and fruits.
