Comparative efficacy and studies of mode of action of minerals from diatoms against three species of filth flies

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
Mortality for diatomaceous earth was observed as early as 2 h after exposure with 50% and 90% mortality at 3.5 and 4.6 h (LT50 and LT90, respectively) for Musca domestica. The LT50 and LT90 increased when the size of the fly species increased (M. domestica to Cochliomyia macellaria to Sarcophaga bullata) and increased for all three from 50 to 70 ...

Cellular immune response of Amblyomma sculptum and Amblyomma americanum to entomopathogenic fungi: Implications for biological tick control

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
Amblyomma sculptum showed a plasmatocyte‐dominant haemocyte profile. Beauveria bassiana increased plasmatocytes and reduced granulocytes, whereas Metarhizium robertsii did not cause significant changes. Amblyomma americanum showed a granulocyte‐dominant haemocyte profile. Beauveria bassiana reduced total haemocytes and granulocytes. B.

Neuropsychiatric manifestations following acute organophosphate poisoning

open access: yesMedical Journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil University, 2016
Acute muscarinic and nicotinic side effects of organophosphate (OP) poisoning are well known and easily recognized, but neuropsychiatric changes are rarely reported. We are reporting a case of a 22-year-old male who developed psychotic features and motor

The importance of longitudinal evaluation using DAT‐SPECT in organophosphate‐induced toxic parkinsonism

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Reports, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
We performed longitudinal evaluation using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dopamine transporter single‐photon emission computed tomography (DAT‐SPECT) in a case of organophosphate‐induced toxic parkinsonism. Fluid‐attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) images showed bilateral striatal hyperintensity in the acute phase, followed by reduction of ...

ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF USING A BORDER TREATMENT FOR REDUCING ORGANOPHOSPHATE USE IN SEED POTATO PRODUCTION [PDF]

open access: yes
Recent research shows initial colonization of potato fields by winged green peach aphid is concentrated at field edges. This suggests that insecticides applied only to field margins during initial colonization would largely eliminate a colonizing aphid ...

Malathion Resistance in Larvae of Some Southern Minnesota Populations of the Indianmeal Moth,\u3ci\u3e Plodia Interpunctella\u3c/i\u3e (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), Infesting Bulk-Stored Shelled Corn [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Larvae of 21 field collected populations of the Indianmeal moth, Plodia interpunctella, infesting stored shelled corn in southern Minnesota were tested for their susceptibility to malathion in the laboratory.

Gene‐specific double‐stranded RNAs induce mortality in the South African mealybug Delottococcus aberiae

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 6, Page 5184-5194, June 2026.
Gene‐specific double‐stranded RNAs effectively silence essential genes in the invasive citrus pest Delottococcus aberiae, leading to significant mortality through both microinjection and oral delivery. These results provide proof of concept for RNA interference‐based biopesticides as selective and sustainable tools for citrus integrated pest management.
