Microbial degradation of organophosphonates by soil bacteria

Microbiology, 2008
Bacteria that can utilize glyphosate (GP) or methylphosphonic acid (MPA) as a sole phosphorus source have been isolated from soil samples polluted with organophosphonates (OP). No matter which of these compounds was predominant in the native habitat of the strains, all of them utilized methylphosphonate.

Heterocyclic Amine Derivatives of Zinc Organophosphonates [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry of Materials, 2004
A series of novel zinc(II) organophosphonates with coordinated 2,2‘-bipyridyl (2,2‘-bipy, C10H8N2) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen, C12H8N2) ligands (with the proposed formulations:  Zn(O3PC6H5)(C12H8N2), Zn2(O3PR)2(C12H8N2) (R = C6H5CH2, C2H5, CH3), and Zn2(O3PR)2(C10H8N2)(H2O) (R = C6H5, C6H5CH2)) has been prepared and characterized.

Photophysical Properties of New Terbium (III) Organophosphonates

Journal of Fluorescence, 2006
This paper reports on the synthesis, characterization and photophysical properties of the Tb3+ organophosphonates, TbH(O3PR)2, methylphosphonate (R = CH3), ethylphosphonate (R = C2H5), propylphosphonate (R = C3H7), and phenylphosphonate (R = C6H5). The layered Tb3+ organophosphonates were characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, TG and ...

Ionothermal synthesis of two novel metal organophosphonates [PDF]

open access: yesDalton Trans., 2009
Two novel metal phosphonates, Al(5)F(C(4)H(9)PO(3))(6)(OH)(2)(C(4)N(2)H(6))(2) and Ga(4)F(2)(C(4)H(9)PO(3))(8)H(5).(C(7)N(2)H(11)) have been prepared using an ionothermal approach and their structures solved using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In , the breakdown of the ionic liquid solvent has occurred and a fragment of the cation coordinates to ...

Reaction of Acetylcholinesterase with Organophosphonates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Irreversible inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AchE) by organophosphorus agents is rapid, proceeding at rates that, in general, exceed 105–106 M−1-min−1. Numerous instances occur in which the reaction velocity, proceeding at rates greater than 108 M−1-min−1, approaches within an order of magnitude of the diffusion limitation (Berman and Leonard, 1989)

Studies of the interaction of two organophosphonates with nanostructured silver surfaces

Analyst, The, 2012
Electrochemical cycling of silver surfaces in the presence of the organophosphonates paraoxon and malathion leads to changes in the electrochemical response of silver and the formation of silver nanostructures. Adsorption of the organophosphonates onto the silver surfaces causes a significant reduction in the observed current response due to an ...

Fireproofing of polyurethane elastomers by reactive organophosphonates [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer International, 2003
AbstractPolyurethane elastomers were prepared with hydroxytelechelic polybutadiene (HTPB) as polyol, modified 4,4′‐diphenylmethane diisocyanate (modified MDI) as liquid polyisocyanate, and phosphonate diols as chain extenders and flame retardant compounds.
