Degradation of organophosphonates by Penicillium citrinum
Letters in Applied Microbiology, 1992Utilization of organophosphonates as the sole source of phosphorus, carbon or nitrogen by a soil isolate of Penicillium citrinum was studied. Penicillium citrinum was found to utilize 2-aminoethylphosphonic and 2-oxoalkylphosphonic acids as the sole phosphorus source whereas 1-hydroxyalkylphosphonates as well as 1-aminoalkylphosphonates and their ...

Fluorescent organophosphonates as inhibitors of microbial lipases
Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 2003Short- and long-chain 1-O-alkyl-2-acylaminodeoxyglycero- and alkoxy-alkylphosphonic acid p-nitrophenyl esters were synthesized as inhibitors for analytical and mechanistic studies on lipolytic enzymes. The respective compounds contain perylene or nitrobenzoxadiazole as reporter fluorophores covalently bound to the omega-ends of the respective 2 ...

Ionothermal synthesis of two novel metal organophosphonates
Dalton Trans., 2009Two novel metal phosphonates, Al(5)F(C(4)H(9)PO(3))(6)(OH)(2)(C(4)N(2)H(6))(2) and Ga(4)F(2)(C(4)H(9)PO(3))(8)H(5).(C(7)N(2)H(11)) have been prepared using an ionothermal approach and their structures solved using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In , the breakdown of the ionic liquid solvent has occurred and a fragment of the cation coordinates to ...

Microbial degradation of organophosphonates by soil bacteria
Microbiology, 2008Bacteria that can utilize glyphosate (GP) or methylphosphonic acid (MPA) as a sole phosphorus source have been isolated from soil samples polluted with organophosphonates (OP). No matter which of these compounds was predominant in the native habitat of the strains, all of them utilized methylphosphonate.

Preparations of Metal Trichalcogenophosphonates from Organophosphonate Esters
Inorganic Chemistry, 2012A new method for the preparation of metal trichalcogenophosphonates is presented wherein organophosphonate esters are first reduced with LiAlH(4) and subsequently treated with an organometallic reagent and elemental sulfur or selenium to give the desired trichalcogenophosphonate complex.
