Evaluation of Organosolv Lignin as an Oxidation Inhibitor in Bitumen [PDF]
Organosolv lignin, a natural polymer, has been used in this study as an oxidation inhibitor in bitumen. Particularly, the effect of oxidative aging on the chemical compositional changes and on the rheology of bituminous binders with organosolv lignin and

Highly Unsaturated Lignin Through Clean and Efficient Ru-Catalyzed Glycerol Carbonate Allylation and Ring-Opening Reaction Strategies. [PDF]
An innovative, ruthenium‐catalyzed strategy successfully functionalizes unpurified technical lignins with ready‐to‐graft allylic synthons derived from glycerol carbonate. This atom‐economical ring‐opening reaction achieves up to 90% hydroxyl substitution.

Unraveling the Role of Lignin Oligomers Functionality for the Synthesis of Nonisocyanate Polyurethanes. [PDF]
This study reports the synthesis of bio‐based nonisocyanate polyhydroxyurethanes from crude lignins and depolymerized lignin oligomers. The structure–properties relationships were largely explored and highlighted the key role of lignin functionality on the physical properties of the materials. Lignins are the main source of aromatic compounds in nature.

Atomistic Origins of Biomass Recalcitrance in Organosolv Pretreatment
Secondary plant cell walls are made from three common biopolymers, cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose, representing a critical feedstock for sustainable biomaterial production. Separating lignocellulosic biomass components for use in tailored sustainable energy and materials applications is challenging, as the biopolymers are in close proximity ...
