Co-and Ca-phosphate-based catalysts for the depolymerization of organosolv eucalytpus lignin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Depolymerization of purified organosolv eucalyptus wood lignin by the heterogeneous catalysts, cobalt polyphosphate (CoP2O6) and calcium phosphate (β-CaP2O6) was investigated. A total syringol yield of 16.7% was achieved with β-CaP2O6 in a methanol/water

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

Coupled Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production With Selective Biomass Valorization via Active Sites Construction and Electron Transport Channels Engineering

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A ternary CdS/1T‐WS2/CNTs heterojunction is in‐situ constructed via hydrothermal method, which is used for photocatalytic biomass reforming (biomass‐derived alcohols, lignin). It exhibits outstanding performance: H2 production rate of 26.17 mmol/g/h for benzyl alcohol (BA), benzaldehyde (BD) generation rate of 8.29 mmol/g/h, 90.06% BD selectivity, 100%
