Electrochemically treated lignin in phenolic resins for plywood panels
In achieving the European Union's goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, the scientific community is striving to develop processes and products that are technologically and economically sustainable to replace/substitute fossil-

Green Solvents in Biomass Delignification for Fuels and Chemicals
Lignin is considered by many as the ultimate barrier that impedes biomass conversion to fuels and chemicals. Several delignification strategies have been developed so far, but alkaline extraction remains the most widely used. However, this technology has

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

A brief review of the structure and extraction methods of lignin
One of the three basic components of lignocellulosic biomass (LB), lignin is the second most plenty of natural polymer on the planet after cellulose. It has the power to become the aromatic raw material of the future for industry. However, this potential

Novel organic solvents with an unmodified carbohydrate core were synthesised both from D‐xylose and directly from biomass and were successfully used as reaction media for lipase biocatalysts to synthesise aliphatic and aromatic polyesters. Abstract The use of organic solvents in academic research and industry applications is facing increasing ...

Organosolv pulping-VII: Delignification selectivity of formic acid pulping of Eucalyptus grandis
Abstract Eucalyptus grandis wood was ca. 80% delignified in 79–92% (v v −1 formic acid containing 0.22% (w v −1 ) HCl as a catalyst under reflux and mechanical stirring for 90 min. Pulps obtained under these conditions presented pulp yield, Kappa number and Klason lignin in the ranges of 44–52%, 30–40 and 8–10%, respectively. The presence of water

Toward Plastic‐Free Vineyards: The Role of Bioplastics in Sustainable Viticulture—A Review
ABSTRACT Agricultural value chains consume more than 12.5 Mt. of plastics annually, and vineyard systems are a notable source of short‐lived plastic waste. In viticulture, conventional plastics improve agricultural efficiency, crop protection, and wine quality, but their widespread use raises environmental and health concerns.
