Preliminary Study on Organosolv Pulping of Acacia Hybrid

open access: yesJournal of Forest and Environmental Science, 2013
Abstract An attempt was made on pulp production from the fast growing plant, Acacia hybrid to determine the total yield, screened yield, Kappa number, and fibre morphology of organosolv Acacia hybrid pulp. Uniform-sized chips were taken to undergo pulping in a digester with five different concentrations of ethanol, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% (v/v) with

Recent Developments in Electrochemical Lignin Depolymerization Using Flow Systems: A Mini Review

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 August 2026.
This review summarizes the current state of the electrochemical depolymerization of lignin focusing on studies performed in flow cells. Three anodic strategies are distinguished: oxygen evolution reaction substitution for energy‐efficient hydrogen generation, nonselective oligomer production, and selective aromatic monomer synthesis, such as vanillin ...

Unraveling the Role of Lignin Oligomers Functionality for the Synthesis of Nonisocyanate Polyurethanes

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
This study reports the synthesis of bio‐based nonisocyanate polyhydroxyurethanes from crude lignins and depolymerized lignin oligomers. The structure–properties relationships were largely explored and highlighted the key role of lignin functionality on the physical properties of the materials. Lignins are the main source of aromatic compounds in nature.

Sustainable Carbon Fibers Enable Stable Long‐Term Lithium Metal Deposition for Prospective Zero‐Excess Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 30, 12 August 2026.
This work presents lightweight, lignin‐derived carbon fiber current collectors that enable controlled lithium deposition. Structural defects and intermediate‐sized pores stabilize pre‐nucleation quasi‐metallic lithium clusters, promoting uniform lithium plating and stripping.

BAMBOO CELLULOSIC PULP PRODUCED BY THE ETHANOL/WATER PROCESS FOR REINFORCEMENT APPLICATIONS

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2015
Organosolv pulping is the clean chemical process of using organic solvents to aid in the removal of lignin and hemicellulose from lignocellulosic raw materials. This method provides facility for solvent recovery at the end of the process.

Precision Lignocellulosic Biorefinery: Process Regulation From Corn Stover to Products

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 40, 17 July 2026.
This study presents a precision biorefinery framework that transforms corn stover into high‐value bioproducts through whole‐process regulation. Mechanical fractionation separates feedstock into parenchyma‐rich short fibers and vascular‐bundle‐dominant long fibers.

In Situ Characterization of Lignin Precipitation by Synchrotron Small‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
Small‐angle X‐ray scattering was used to observe the formation of nanoscale lignin structures in situ, when mixing industrial spent liquor and antisolvent. The results showed systematic differences in the size and packing of nanoscale structural units that form larger lignin aggregates and demonstrated the feasibility of the method.
