Researches on Organosulfur Compounds
Sulfur reports, 1986Abstract Sulfur Reports occasionally invites chemists who have done outstanding research in sulfur chemistry throughout their careers to summarize their work informally. Such accounts afford them an opportunity to weave all of their research into a continuing story.

Reduction of oxygenated organosulfur compounds
Journal of Sulfur Chemistry, 2008A comprehensive review on deoxygenation of sulfoxides to thioethers and reductive coupling of sulfonyl, sulfinyl and sulfenyl halides, sulfinates and thiosulfonates to their corresponding disulfides are discussed with different reagents and catalysts. The reported mechanisms for these transformations are also addressed.

The Antioxidant Properties of Organosulfur Compounds (Sulforaphane)
Recent Patents on Endocrine, Metabolic & Immune Drug Discovery, 2015Sulforaphane (SFN) is a molecule within the isothiocyanate (ITC) group of organosulfur compounds. SFN is a phytochemical commonly found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, brussels sprouts and cabbages. It has been widely studied in order to evaluate its chemopreventive properties and some of those have already been established by means of ...

Organosulfur Compounds in Sulfur-Rich Raša Coal
Energy & Fuels, 1999The organosulfur compounds in the extract and pyrolysate of the unusually organic sulfur-rich (11.4 wt %) Upper Palaeocene Rasa coal have been identified by gas chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry. The major organosulfur compounds (OSC) present in the extract are alkylated benzo[b]- and dibenzothiophenes and in the pyrolysates alkylated ...

Antimicrobial Properties of Organosulfur Compounds
2012Organosulfur compounds are defined as organic molecules containing one or more carbon-sulfur bonds. These compounds are present particularly in Allium and Brassica vegetables and are converted to a variety of other sulfur containing compounds via hydrolysis by several herbal enzymes when the intact bulbs are damaged or cut. Sulfur containing hydrolysis

Bacterial transporters for sulfate and organosulfur compounds
Research in Microbiology, 2001Microorganisms require sulfur for growth, and obtain it either from inorganic sulfate or from organosulfur compounds such as sulfonates, sulfate esters, or sulfur-containing amino acids. Transport of sulfate into the cell is catalyzed either by ATP binding cassette (ABC)-type transporters (SulT family) or by major facilitator superfamily-type ...
