"Interfacial" conditions were used for the preparation of organotin sulfides, tetraalkyl- or tetraaryl-dichlorodistanthianes, and similar compounds having a polysulfide linkage between two tin atoms. The compounds were prepared by reaction of sodium sulfide or sodium polysulfide in aqueous solution with various molar ratios of dialkyl- or diaryl-tin ...

Differential gliotoxicity of organotins
Cell Biology and Toxicology, 1999On the basis of reports that astrocytes play an important role in the neurotoxicity of trimethyltin (TMT), we investigated the sensitivity of astrocytes to TMT and compared it to triethyltin (TET), a neurotoxic analog with a different in vivo specificity.

Organotin compounds are well established as fungicides in organic solvent‐based wood preservative formulations for out‐of‐ground contact applications. In this context investigations have continued throughout the year on the biocidal effectiveness of alternative candidate tributyltin de‐rivatives towards two wood‐destroying fungi Conio‐phora puteana and

The homologous series of tributyltin carboxylates ranging from the formate to the stearate and three substituted tributyltin acetates have been prepared. Examination of the infrared spectra of the compounds supports the recent view that organotin esters are covalent and chelated in character rather than ionic compounds.
