Detecting Regimes of Critical Zone Processes, Drivers and Predictability With a Data‐Driven Framework

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract In highly productive agricultural landscapes, human impacts combine with naturally variable climate conditions and geologic legacies to fundamentally alter critical zone (CZ) processes. For example, artificial drainage and fertilizer applications impact riverine transport of water and nutrients, and abrupt transitions in vegetation states ...

Assessment of Spatial and Temporal Nitrate Dynamics in a Medium‐Sized Watershed Using SWAT‐RIVE

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 39, Issue 12, December 2025.
Nitrate dynamics in a catchment with multiple anthropogenic pressures were evaluated with SWAT‐RIVE. The results show that 54% of soil nitrate is removed by denitrification, mainly in agricultural areas and wetlands, 8.5% of nitrate inputs to soils reach the river system, and 1.7% is removed by in‐stream processes.

Forecasting Shaharchay River Flow in Lake Urmia Basin using Genetic Programming and M5 Model Tree

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2017
Introduction: Precise prediction of river flows is the key factor for proper planning and management of water resources. Thus, obtaining the reliable methods for predicting river flows has great importance in water resource engineering.

Oracle-Orgeval, Long-term Research observatory of the critical zone

open access: yesARPHA Conference Abstracts
The Orgeval Long-term Research Observatory, part of the French critical zone network (OZCAR RI), is a 104 km² agricultural catchment, located 70 km east of Paris, in France. The Orgeval catchment is representative of intensive agriculture (80 % of its total area), the main land use in the Seine river basin.

Paleomagnetic Secular Variations in North Greenland Around 81°N Over the Last 6,000 Years

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2024.
Abstract We investigate full vector paleomagnetic changes recorded in high‐resolution sediments of Petermann Fjord, North Greenland, deposited over the last 6 kyr, in the context of the recent rapid changes in the geomagnetic field. A Paleomagnetic Secular Variation (PSV) stack (inclination, declination, and relative paleointensity) was reconstructed ...

Soil moisture assessment at a basin scale using active microwave remote sensing: the Agriscatt '88 Airborne Campaign on the Orgeval watershed

open access: yesInternational Journal of Remote Sensing, 1994

Integration of Gaussian process regression and K means clustering for enhanced short term rainfall runoff modeling

open access: yesScientific Reports
Accurate rainfall-runoff modeling is crucial for effective watershed management, hydraulic infrastructure safety, and flood mitigation. However, predicting rainfall-runoff remains challenging due to the nonlinear interplay between hydro-meteorological ...

Domesticity in Times of Crisis

open access: yesDocomomo Journal
In 1952, both the French magazine L’Architecture d’aujourd’hui and the Italian magazine Domus published a small house built by an American architect on the outskirts of Paris for his personal use. The outsider they highlighted to was Peter G.

Integrating Flow and Solute Flux Dynamics in an Adaptive LSTM Model for Stream Chemistry Predictions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation
High‐frequency measurements of stream solute dynamics reveal fluctuations across a multitude of time‐scales. At the storm‐event time‐scales they expose solute specific rapid mobilization or dilution effects, in addition to hysteresis.
