An object oriented image display system
Proceedings., 11th IAPR International Conference on Pattern Recognition. Vol. IV. Conference D: Architectures for Vision and Pattern Recognition,, 2003The paper gives an overview of a general image display system for raster displays. The system is able to display images of arbitrary size, pixel type and image organization on all types of raster displays. A general geometric transformation is performed.

Automatic image orientation determination with natural image statistics
Proceedings of the 13th annual ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2005In this paper, we propose a new method for automatically determining image orientations. This method is based on a set of natural image statistics collected from a multi-scale multi-orientation image decomposition (e.g., wavelets). From these statistics, a two-stage hierarchal classification with multiple binary SVM classifiers is employed to determine

An Isophote-Oriented Image Interpolation Method
2008 International Symposium on Computer Science and Computational Technology, 2008This paper presents an isophote-oriented image interpolation method that attempts to produce smooth reconstructions of the image?s level curves while still maintaining image fidelity. The proposed method employs an interpolation kernel that is obtained by looking for the explicit solution of a nonlinear PDE (partial differential equation).

An Algorithm for the Automatic Estimation of Image Orientation
2012The paper presents a new method for the determination of an image orientation -- the distinction between portrait- and landscape-oriented images. The algorithm can be applied to photographs taken outdoors. The approach is based on the use of a subpart of an image containing the sky.

Image Descriptors Based on the Edge Orientation
2009 Fourth International Workshop on Semantic Media Adaptation and Personalization, 2009Edges are one of the most important image visual features. They are highly related with shapes and can also be representative of the image textures. Edge orientation histograms are usually very reliable descriptors suitable for image analysis, search and retrieval. In this work two methods to compute edge based orientation descriptors are reported: the

Sex Differences in the Orientation of Body Image
Journal of Personality Assessment, 1972Summary This study examined Erikson's formulation of contrasting psychosexual modes in males and females through the configuration used in the drawing of a tree. It is suggested that an open configuration in the drawing of the foliage expresses the projection of body image in an intrusive mode, while a closed configuration expresses an inclusive mode ...
