In‐Tumor CRISPR‐Cas9 Knockout Screening and Novel Therapy Development for Malignant Transformation of Ovarian Teratoma

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
We conducted an in vivo genome‐wide CRISPR‐Cas9 knockout screen using MTMCT‐derived cells to identify genes essential for tumor growth. SOD1 emerged as a key therapeutic target, and its inhibition suppressed tumor proliferation by disrupting redox homeostasis, both in vitro and in PDX models. ABSTRACT Malignant transformation of mature cystic teratoma (

Addressing environmental misperceptions for nature recovery

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract A poorly understood and systemic challenge to global conservation agreements is shifting baseline syndrome (SBS), wherein people misperceive the extent to which nature has changed. This can diminish societal expectations for nature recovery. We broadened the conceptual framing of SBS beyond the more common elements of nature loss to include ...

From plant to fabric: Environmental opportunities associated with annatto dye for sustainable development in the textile industry

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Natural dyes are compounds that occur naturally in several organisms and are classified based on chemical structure and application method. The literature cites several natural dyes used in industrial transformation processes. Annatto dye is used in the food industry, and its biological pigment is extracted from the annatto seed. However, this

Race‐related research in economics

open access: yesEconomica, EarlyView.
Abstract Issues of racial justice and economic inequalities between racial and ethnic groups have risen to the top of public debate. Economists' ability to contribute to these debates is based on the body of race‐related research. We study the volume and content of race‐related research in economics.
