This note presents the solutions to the problem of orienting N converging vectors with a common origin in space with maximal separation for N = 3,4,...,8. This paper proposes a new strategy to estimate the rotor flux of an induction machine for the direct field oriented control. An electrical model of the induction machine presents the basic idea based on observer structure, which is composed of a voltage model and current model.

In this work a field oriented control (FOC) method is used, in combination with a multilevel inverter, in order to control the speed of an induction machine. A three level diode clamped inverter (DCI) is used, instead of a cascaded multilevel inverter which is the usual solution.
