On-Orbit Calibration Method for Rotation Axis Misalignment in Rotating Mirror-Based Wide-Field Space Cameras

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Rotating mirror-based space cameras are susceptible to mirror misalignment due to the severe vibrations experienced during rocket launch and the harsh, variable conditions of the space environment, which can result in deviations of the camera’s line of ...

Ionic Fracture Fluid Leak-Off

open access: yesFluids, 2019
The study is motivated by monitoring the space orientation of a hydrolic fracture used in oil production. Streaming potential arises due to the leakage of ionic fracking fluid under the rock elastic forces which make the fracture disclosure disappear ...

Enhancing spin–orbit coupling in high-mobility graphene by introducing chiral space curvature

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
Graphene is an excellent two-dimensional materials with high-mobility and relativistic electronic linear dispersion. Its rich physical properties such as half-integer quantum Hall effect and device application potential have been continuously attracting ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

IMF dependence of the open-closed field line boundary in Saturn's ionosphere, and its relation to the UV auroral oval observed by the Hubble Space Telescope [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We study the dependence of Saturn's magnetospheric magnetic field structure on the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF), together with the corresponding variations of the open-closed field line boundary in the ionosphere.

POSE VERSUS STATE: ARE SENSOR POSITION AND ATTITUDE SUFFICIENT FOR MODERN PHOTOGRAMMETRY AND REMOTE SENSING? [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
We investigate the advantages of using what we call sensor state parameters or sensor state to describe the geometrical relationship between a sensor and the 3D space or the 4D time-space that extend the traditional image pose or orientation (position ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Equivariant orientation of vector bundles over disconnected base spaces

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society
AbstractIn this paper, we view the equivariant orientation theory of equivariant vector bundles from the lenses of equivariant Picard spectra. This viewpoint allows us to identify, for a finite group , a precise condition under which an ‐orientation of a ‐equivariant vector bundle is encoded by a Thom class.

Field Oriented Control of Space Vector Modulated Multilevel Inverter fed PMSM Drive

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2017
Abstract In this article, field orient control (FOC) of a space vector modulated asymmetrical Multilevel inverter (MLI) fed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is presented. The MLI considered is a reduced switch inverter which produces seven level output with six power switches and two input sources.

5-Phase AC induction motor rotor flux oriented control with space vector modulation technique [PDF]

open access: yes2013 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Software Applications, 2013
The paper deals with the analysis of the rotor flux oriented control with space vector modulation technique for a five phase induction motor drive. The speed control using the rotor flux oriented control (RFOC) with or without speed sensor uses proportional integral controlled technique which make it possible to achieve satisfactory goals on the torque
